About 3,000 students, teachers and parents from all levels of education marched down Mission Street, headed toward a giant rally at San Francisco’s Civic Center, reports David Russitano, a math teacher and member of United Educators of San Francisco.

The crowd is a cross-section of all races and genders. The feeling is festive, with costumes, homemade signs and plenty of noise-makers. It feels like the start of a massive movement.

And the crowd is still continuing to grow as schools get out!

Protesters from all parts of the Bay Area are converging on the Civic Center rally in San Francisco–expectations are high for a huge turnout.

Update: That 3,000 mentioned above became 20,000 within two hours! Democracy Now reported that, nationwide, the action numbered around 100,000!

Do you know about moomie? She is a sort of alter ego/mini me that I created for funsies. She always wears her hood up, loves her silly sock boot slippers, and has a cat named Schmoomie. A lot of situations involving moomie come from real life, like the following….

(yes, i once whispered this question to bryan right before we were going to fall asleep. no i don’t know why i whispered it.)

So whenever you hear me say something that doesn’t quite make sense, or when I run around real fast making silly sounds with my hood up, or when I get a little tippy and give a speech that doesn’t really make any sense at space themed parties just know that it’s really moomie you’re listening to.

I’m going to get in on the ground floor and tell the people why Goosebumps’s totally the most underrated serial fiction of the twenty-first century thus far.  It’ll even let you pretend like you’re totally better than your friends, workmates and loved ones? HOTDAWG. Oh my stars and garters, this is way better than my idea for Kooksterpedia, the wiki for those kooky kids who love rainy-days and cookie-shots.

Not only was the entire stadium absolutely silent, my friends and I were silent as well. It felt like the whole world had paused. That probably sounds overdramatic.

I made this illustration today. It’s not really supposed to be a memorial or anything. I think it’s more about all the luge athletes and how this event has affected them.

It was a doodle at first. Then it turned into a scavenger hunt. I think a whole series of people discovering things would be interesting.
